The evolution of media has transformed the way we interpret the world around us. It gives us a new perspective by allowing us to interact with one another through the Internet. Media has become much more personal and diverse as user-generated content becomes more prominent in our lives. We are exposed to assorted types of viewpoints that shape our understanding and knowledge of the social world. Moreover, change in technology has brought advancement to transportation methods, which makes it very easy and fast to go long distances than before. It has also brought change in communication, with the development of the mobile phones, where the communication is now more efficient. Technology has also brought changes in education where studentsâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦As mentioned in the textbook, ââ¬Å"Search engines are an essential tool in the new media landscape for access to countless sites on the internet. Google and Yahoo are the major search enginesâ⬠(Vivian, 2013). Now , we do not have to spend countless hours at a library trying to investigate or find information we may need for an assignment; therefore, any subject matter is basically within reach of our fingertips. Based on the textbook, people spends more time with media than anything else now days. As I had mentioned earlier, that may be a negative effect as it is affecting us and our time spent with the loved ones and enjoy them while we can. ââ¬Å"The Ball State study found besides five hours of media involvement a day, people average more than an additional six hours with the media while doing something elseâ⬠(Vivian, p.4). This means that no matter what other chores we may be doing, we are still connected somehow to the cyber world. Moreover, this also can affect us in many negative ways. Due to the easy access to internet, families do not spend time together as they used to years ago. I believe that families do not eat together at the table, do not watch TV together, do not go out together as much, and there is lack of communication as well. People do not communicate verbally, but instead, via email, text messages, or social networks. I have noticed that people do not enjoy trips or time with friendsShow MoreRelated How Digital Processes Change Photography Essay1665 Words à |à 7 PagesProcesses Change Photography New technology is an ever present, always advancing force in todayââ¬â¢s world. Business Leadership in Learning Organizations
Question: Discuss about the Business Leadership in Learning Organizations. Answer: Introduction: The study done on own experience is for the most part done recollecting the genuine target to demonstrate the self energy about the idea. Furthermore, how an individual will apply those advantageous and hypothetical contemplations for the progress of own to build up the association. This reflection will show my perspectives about the movement musings and speculations which I learned amidst the semester. Before taking off to the classes I have had an astoundingly dim thought as for movement yet in the wake of finishing the semester my thought with respect to the force thought and its application has totally been changed. I will in like way share a few my experiences of my energy aptitudes and in addition in what way I will utilize those limits in my connection. The style of Leaderships: The force is a trademark part which I have found by the judgement in this semester. However, It can be adjusted for better use. In any case, a vital by the ideals of my semester and course module that they have completely changed my perspective about the likelihood of the association. Going before this semester my thought concerning the force was extraordinarily dim and I used to appreciate it as any sort of action where the pioneer of the party always demonstrate their abuse on the young people. What I had comprehended from my course is that 'Power or action is the competency of an affiliation's bearing to surrender to stronger decisions and additionally move others to do well (Kotter, 2009). Inducing pioneers may set in spite of recognise testing targets, to manufacture brisk despite complete move even in troublesome conditions to overcome their debilitating vibe, to put everything remaining in a critical state and despite hang on paying little notice to discontent. Persuading soci al aptitudes, conviction, the ability to direct others in spite of a passion to handle change correspondingly delineate unfathomable pioneers (Winston, 2006). Remembering the ultimate objective to give a brief understanding on pioneer our teachers similarly offered an assorted various theoretical case. From these speculative delineations what I understood is: Power is having the settlement to put the representatives in the basic line all together that the get-together may create. Pioneers ought to contribute time in agents and moreover ensure that they feel extraordinary in the working environment. This collects the handiness despite suitability of the affiliation. Administration offers answers to an issue in any case and it is the capacity to observe and resolve the issue (Patterson, 2006). As I have as of now specified about my idea concerning the power going before the semester and my idea has taken care of business the post satisfaction of this semester. The subject of initiative is uncommonly huge moreover has diverse styles. Generally of this semester what I have gotten some answers concerning the thought and speculations of authority. Whatever I can say that with adapting more in regards to the point and with my semester advance my ideas of prompting the thought have changed from strength to positive edge. In the blink of an eye around there I will share a couple of my musings on what I have exactly gotten some answers concerning the possibility of administration and how it is supporting in my own specific change. There are unmistakable sorts of administration and an individual power anybody out of those activity aptitudes. Presently beneath I will share around two unmistakable sorts of authority which has truly helped me change my perspectives: Transformational initiative - Transformational power is depicted as an association procedure that offers roots to change in people furthermore in shared framework. In its best structure, it makes beneficial and profitable change in the supporters as well as the picking focus of encircling lovers into pioneers (Barker, 1992). Esteem based Leadership-Value-based power or esteem based structure, which is similarly distinguished as administrative action, gives its purpose of merging regarding checking, consideration, and get-together execution. Regard based power is a philosophy of force wherein a man leads the way advances consistence of their supporters by technique for giving both prizes and inspiration to take care of business (Rost, 1993). With the help of the investigation of the attributes of pioneer has assisted me a ton in seeing how particular organization works and I will apply these qualities when I will work in an association. The topic of power has given a full finding out about how a man can use the qualities to build up their own specific administration aptitudes. Thusly, this study has in like manner helped me in working up a little bit of my corporate aptitudes. This course has not recently opened my eyes towards the start of activity, be that as it may, it has in like manner demonstrated me a way how I can be a conventional pioneer in the pending times. By learning and investigation, I have comprehended that each space has a distinctive kind of pioneers in view of the need and improvement style. Since a business is on a greatly crucial level about information, in any case, the true blue pioneers of an occupation are the idea pioneers. The all inclusive community who unite the reasoning of the livelihood's kin and also expressive course for what's to come. Infrequently a business will pick it thought pioneers to power positions (Agre, 2005). Headship deduces both talking and furthermore tuning in, both vision and comprehension. Pioneer helps to construct a web of relationship inside the calling and conveys the matters which are made in the reasoning of the work with everything considered. In the learning based world of unending change and ch ange, besides from my adapting all through my semester, I express, every expert ofcourese be a pioneer. This is not an all around transcendent thought. The aptitudes that the pioneer goes thought while building the base of a base measure of conclusion around making issues are the same limits that each expert must be stay utilized by any stretch of the imaginative capacity (Vielmetter, 2014). Nevertheless, this is not the end; with a particular ultimate objective to have a perfect power inclination still every space is loaded with potential outcomes. Case in point, if I have to develop my drive, aptitude in a more transcendent manner, then I will assume control over the person whom I accept is a mind blowing pioneer in that space. I will unmistakable look on supporting the qualities and will endeavor to grasp those attributes. I will report myself as a not too bad on that day when I will have the ability to have a couple of followers of me and who will support me as well. Despite the fact that working up administration learning goes path past simply concentrating on it, an individual need to grasp the possibility of administration by experience and experimentation. I will say few areas of being a pioneer might be gotten by acknowledging get prepared, watching awesome outlines, secures work experience, examining examination and also theory. Likewise honing self-power, watc hed that rehearsing self-association gives an examination ground to learning and moreover making authoritative limits. Remembering the ultimate objective to develop my own particular power capacities and data. By perception everyday exercises should be taken an interest. Likewise, I will make "mental exercises" for honing the pioneer's activities and practices early, practicing power hones through "mental symbolism," working in "run of the mill" prizes for achievement, and after that honing self-feedback. To get more bits of knowledge would I in like to read in activity journals and books on which will help me expanding additional information about the organization (Morgeson, 2010). Not only listening to the speakers and examining heaps of books and journal will help a person not to be a too bad pioneer. For this circumstance, I will seize the opportunity to perceive my school that has given me the fundamental stage to grow up as a pioneer furthermore my adolescence mates. In the mid of our semester we have used unmistakable verticals which I will discuss in the underneath fragments. Class Activities-Class practices have helped an extensive measure in comprehension and likewise applying power thoughts for the duration of my life since it has shown how a man can grasp an activity inclination in every way that really matters. In class practices we have learned distinctive approaches to test what we have learnt in principle which helped a significant measure in expanding more sensible data in power. Readings and Discussion-Reading and trade has helped in giving a speculation based realizing which is helping me in my underlying change of organization data. Case Films-Nothing helps in learning than really confronting the circumstance. Thought case motion pictures amid my semester have helped me in grabbing a lot of organization aptitudes.By and expansive from the learning of power I can say that this thought must be gotten a handle on if a man makes usage of this data both speculatively and in every way that really matters. Few of the tips which I have orchestrated myself remembering the true objective to twist up a better than average pioneer are discussed in unpretentious component underneath. Whatever ethical I hold to myself, when I will be in control of a gathering of social orders, around then it's crucial to grow the dynamic retributions much higher. My business and furthermore my operators will be an impression of me and on the off chance that in case I make honest to goodness and great direct a key respect, my social occasion will make a move as required (Dr.Mohanty, 2014). It's fundamental to recollect that believing the social event with my reasoning implies that quality, not shortcoming. Appointing assignments to the suitable divisions is a champion among the most indispensable aptitudes I may make as my association will make (Bass, 2000). On the distant chance that I envision seeing that my social affair will fold down and pass on quality substance in light of current conditions I need to show the all inclusive community how it's done. There is no more tremendous inspiration than review the administrator down in the trenches performing close to others, demonstrating that diligent work is being done on each level. By showing my devotion to the trademark and furthermore my part, I won't just win the energy about my social event, yet will additionally give that same driving forward basically among my gathering (Dr. Sharma, 2013). In the wake of getting a full thought with respect to the possibility of power moreover by researching my drive aptitudes what all that I can say that my developmental opportunities to be a pioneer are especially positive. As in the midst of my course I have learnt both the practical and also, speculative consequences of the organization it will help me in working up my power trademark superiorl y. Regardless, as there is an idiom that there is a degree of change in each field and it might similarly transpire that sooner or later I will disregard to exhibit my power capacities superiorly. In light of current circumstances I will use my semester's notes again and will again take after the ways which had before been instructed in our school. Also, I will in like manner endeavor to take after my pioneer to search for the best learning and notwithstanding make myself. Conclusion: As needs be, from the above done insightful study on activity it can be contemplated that not every individual is an imagined pioneer. However power has been a sense quality yet with the movement of time the thought need make up for lost time with so that the trait of organization can be used as a part of a proper way. An Online Degree Helps Avoid the High Price of Fuel Essay Example
An Online Degree Helps Avoid the High Price of Fuel Essay Example An Online Degree Helps Avoid the High Price of Fuel Essay An Online Degree Helps Avoid the High Price of Fuel Essay We are all aware of the fuel crisis that we are currently facing; it seems that every time that we visit the gas pumps the price per gallon has risen once again and thereââ¬â¢s no end in sight. Experts are predicting a steady rise in fuel prices through the summer and some parts of the country could see as high as four dollars a gallon by the end of the summer. These fuel prices are simply unaffordable for the average working American; some who work far from home are having to weigh the pros and cons of keeping a job on which they are spending so much money to get to on a daily basis. We are all looking for ways to reduce our fuel costs this summer and for some of us that means changing jobs or working from home. For those of us who are pursuing an education ââ¬â or are considering doing so this may be the perfect time to consider an online degree. With the Internet at our disposal, we have access to a variety of products, services, and programs that open up a variety of options and opportunities. An online degree program allows students to work from home ââ¬â or any location that is most convenient for them. Through the Internet registered students can logon to receive assignments and complete the coursework that is required to achieve their degree. There is essentially nothing that differentiates an online degree from a traditional degree program other than logistics. Online degree programs tend to follow the same syllabus as the traditional on-campus programs but students are not required to attend scheduled classes on a campus; rather they can complete their work whenever it is most convenient for them ââ¬â nights, weekends, as so forth. Better yet, an online degree program allows students to stay home and complete their education ââ¬â saving themselves significant money on fuel that would have traditionally been used to travel to and from campus.

The ways children and adults may respond to media content that Essay
The ways children and adults may respond to media content that contains explicit material - Essay Example These programs show objectionable and socially offending content including promiscuity, violence, drug abuse and occultism among others. This paper examines the complaints that objectionable media content has generated, emphasizing on critical analysis of the linkage between the contents and the objections raised by the society. Complaints to objectionable content Various media contents have generated negative criticism from the society. Some of the complaints originate from particular segments of the society while others elicit widespread criticism. In a research study investigating the reactions of the society to objectionable media content, Stephenson (2007) identified religion, race, and culture in addition to sexual orientation as the major factors determining how particular media content is received in the society. In American society, the minority groups have been raising concerns about how their image is portrayed in the media. In the movie industry for instance Adler, et al( 2007) noted that most African American males play violent and vulgar roles that portray them as hardcore criminals with an inclination of abusing hard drugs. In addition, many television programs focusing on black people portray the negative side such as poverty, crime and chronic disease infection in addition to broken and unhappy families. These programs have recently fallen under heavy criticism because they hardly show achievements or positive side of the black people in the community. The negative media publicity of the minorities, especially in developed countries has been attributed by Bushman and Cantor (2003) as the leading cause of reinforcing crime, drug abuse and other social problems, among the minority groups. In addition, they promote racial prejudice, where a particular race is regarded with scorn, suspicion and mistrust. Besides negative depiction of African Americans, portrayal of people from East Asian countries such as Japan and china in the media is equally bias ed compared to white actors. A study conducted by Stephenson (2007) established that most movies with male actors from oriental countries portray them as extremely violent and cold hearted with exemplary martial arts skills. Similarly, female actors from these countries are portrayed as delicate, weak and sexually attractive. This perception creates an impression that Asian females are incompatible with their violent, cold hearted and inhuman counterparts in romantic relationships. Sexually explicit and pornographic programs are some of the most heavily criticized media content in all segments of the society. In extremely conservative societies and religious groups, media programs that broadcast scanty dressing or behavior with sexual overtone are not allowed (Adler, et al 2007). Pornographic content is considered as the epitome of sexual immorality in most societies. Currently, restricting access to pornographic materials to the young people is among the top priorities in most coun tries. Sexually explicit media contents are attributed to promoting promiscuity and other adverse sexual behavior, such as pedophilia, rape and homosexuality. Effect of objectionable content on behavior High prevalence of violent crime, promiscuity, drug abuse and other social disorders have been credited to the negative influence of

Financial Statement Analysis and Report Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Financial Statement Analysis and Report - Essay Example Although the sales of Grand Company increased from BD7450 in year 5 to BD10660, there was a subsequent increase in the purchases and cost of sales leading to a fall in the gross profit margin. The operating profit margin also fell from 10% in year 5 to 5% in year 6. Grand Company earned a better gross profit of BD3500 in year 6 as compared to the gross profit of BD2915 in year 5. However, this was not sufficient in improving the operating margin of Grand Company as expenses increased drastically from year 5 to year 6. This drastic increase was due to the addition of interest expense on the bank loan taken by Grand Company to inject more funds into the business. Return on capital employed is a measure of assessing how much return a company is generating on the capital that is employed in the business. Grand Company took a bank loan in year 6 and hence had more capital as compared to year 5. However, the additional capital was not used efficiently and this is why the return on capital fell drastically from 12% in year 5 to 6% in year 6. Overall, the profitability of Grand Company deteriorated from the year 5 to the year 6. Grand Company should take measures to increase their revenue and reduce their costs in order to stay profitable and sustain their existence in the business. The liquidity of Grand Company remained stable from the year 5 to year 6. There was not much fluctuation in the current and acid test ratio. The efficiency of Grand Company improved in year 6. The cash conversion cycle improved indicating that Grand Companyââ¬â¢s ability to earn cash improved in year 6. Grand Company took a bank loan to inject liquidity into the business which lead to the interest coverage ratio in the year 6. The EPS of Grand Company fell drastically from year 5 to year 6 due to the fall in the net income in year 6. MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM CHANGE Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM CHANGE - Essay Example The advantage is in terms of faster communication and effective information processing, which all becomes possible when firms have diversified information management systems (Dupouet 2013, pp. 6-15). Theoretical View According to modern business theorists, modernisation has brought volatile environments for businesses. Such environments are trendy and hence demand change in the organisation systems. The ability to adjust to the change has become prerequisite (Nowduri 2010). Without modification the firms cannot progress or even survive in the globalised business order. According to Bateââ¬â¢s study in 1994, there are two levels of organisation change: incremental and transformational (Macredie et al. 2005). The incremental change is stage-wise and is based on minor modifications just as change of an information system, processes or structure. Transformational change is radical and depends on the level of incremental change achieved within the organisation system (Marco 2012, pp. 2 20-229). Changing the information setup is a part of the organisation change process and to implement it, there are several issues that organisations have to address (Clarke 2012, pp. 79-81). This report will bring insight into theMIS change process in terms of two organisational setups including NHS (National Health Service) and Amazon. This is to bring a clear viewpoint on information system change by having a practical example of organisations presently operating. Information System Change in Amazon DATA Amazon is a leader in electronic sales and retail works on electronic data and information (Matthews 2012). The company has acquired electronic modules to manage customer based data. The nature of data is electronic, for which Amazon administrators utilise the excessive content management process (Soderstrom 2012). The reliance is highly on e-commerce and electronic management systems where information is spread to appear for international customers and the market. Amazon being a true market seller has brought diversified data management systems (K Laundon & J Laundon 2012, pp. 4-20). To manage online service activities, the enterprise has deployed advanced communication networks. These activities include site management, communication, interaction, flexible merchandising and transaction processing, which all have become possible by Amazonââ¬â¢s online information management system (Gorman 2012). The enterprise works on self-deployed information systems, and also has acquired commercial licensed systems for extensive information processing. This is all to ensure effective data management and communication, which are essential features of Amazon as an international business organisation (Gorman 2012). The real and most apparent change brought by Amazon was its transition from a small business enterprise into a large data holding corporation. It was all because of modifications made on the information side and in the World Wide Web business. Keeping data o f million customers at one time were not possible if Amazon had not planned its e-commerce activity. To organise the e-commerce operation, Amazon deployed an international data management mechanism (Pratt & Adamski 2011, pp. 1-30). This managed data of millions of customers at one time of operation and at a single time of retrieval. All of this was done in short time and with a maximum coverage of benefits. The design
